Sponsored by I'm never going to stop complaining about Dear Doctor and neither should you
Welcome to Star Trek Intergalactic. The premise is simple: Run through Star Trek Voyager. The plot is mostly the same, some of the bridge crew has been moved around and the players have created their own characters to take charge of the bridge. Each episode is an entire episode of Voyager.
The week before we watch the episode, then the SfDebris review, then we discuss the episode and adapt it for tabletop play. 20 years of hindsight and behind the scenes information has taught us that Voyager had loads of fresh potential that was, unfortunately, wasted once it hit the screen, despite the writing and outstanding acting.
So follow along as we trample through what was the black sheep of the TNG era of Trek, before Enterprise came along and stole at least that notoriety for itself. Jesus Lord do you know people actually defend Dear Doctor? Like they actually say if they were in Archer’s position they would do the same thing? I get it, fans missing the whole point of the franchise isn't new, but oh my god.
If you'd like to play along at home, go watch the Season 1 Episode 1 of Voyager “Caretaker” and then this SfDebris review. That should set you up for the actual first episode after this introduction. Keep an eye out for Geneviève Bujold’s hand as an Easter egg.
